Why do people pay for a vulgar metal alloy at the price of gold?
Gold, Silver or Costume Jewelry? Why do people pay for a vulgar metal alloy at the price of gold?
Having dealt with jewelry repairs in the past, I have often encountered the following problem: the customer confidently claims that their chain or bracelet is gold (having paid a lot of money for it), but in reality it is not even silver.
Yet there is the seller's guarantee 🙈

How can you tell if the jewelry you are being sold is made of precious metals (gold or silver) or if it is made of copper or low-value alloys?
The answer is simple: always check the authenticity stamp on the jewel! Be careful to do it at least on gold to avoid falling into the trap of unsavory sellers.
The value of a jewel 💎 is certified with a special stamp that shows the gold or silver content.
In factory products there must be two stamps:
* The first one reports the title of the precious metal
* The second one represents the manufacturing company code
What stamps can you find?
* 750 indicates 18-karat gold. It is found on white, yellow or rose gold.
It is the highest gold title used in Italy.
* 585 represents the lowest grade of gold, i.e. 585 units of gold for every 1000 units of other metals.
*Even less expensive and less valuable is 14-karat gold
* 375 represents the lowest gold title present on the market in Italy.
Lately many prestigious houses use this gold and in the description of the jewel they indicate 9ct which indicates 9 carats. This is the least expensive gold because in the alloy of the jewel there is very little gold, but there are other metals
* 925 is the stamp that represents silver. You can also find it on gold-plated silver jewelry.
Do you know where to find stamps on jewelry?
*In earrings this stamp is often found on the stem so as not to alter the design of the jewel.
* In chains and bracelets it is possible to read the stamp on the snap hook tab
* In rings the stamp is usually engraved on the inside, along the circumference.
Try to be careful!
If you don't find any stamp, it could be just costume jewelry, which, even if beautifully made, should never be paid for at a high price.
